So I have shown you some of my very specific recommendations for readers' retreats in the best destinations and specific locations for each option, but there really are no limits to where you can enjoy your book or e-reader in the Caribbean. 

Here are some additional ideas you may want to consider…

Coffee Shops - An old-time favorite. The smell of coffee, fresh cookies, and the familiar ambient sound of cafe chatter make this a great place to read whilst only being mildly distracted by all the goodies.

Lush gardens - They might not talk about it much but most resorts have some sort of gardens that you can explore. Go for a little wander and see if you can find a hidden spot or bench to take advantage of. 

Comfortable Bars - you do not have to be seated in a barstool to enjoy reading in a bar. Instead, look for a comfortable armchair or sofa that is a little way away from where they are making the drinks. Then order your favorite cocktail, shaken or stirred. 

Suite bed - OK, let's be realistic. Most book lovers do most of their reading in bed. So why not make sure you get the best bedroom possible? Have a look at the suite options and see where you can lay down with your favorite novel. 

Themed restaurant - restaurants are great for books in general and because different dining experiences offer different cuisines, they usually design the room to match. This means you can pick an environment that matches the book you're reading. 

Sunny beach - when has reading on the beach ever been a bad idea?
